Scott Schilling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Ontario's Premier Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instruction

Professor Scott Schilling
Black Belt BJJ Instructor

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that emphasizes ground grappling, with free sparring being an important training method. The aim is generally to use a variety of grappling holds to advance in positioning, and to finally obtain a submission hold.

At Schilling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we provide a clean and safe training environment to ensure all students progress efficiently and effectively in the art. We provide Gi (Uniform) and No Gi classes to cater to those with tournament or future MMA aspirations, those who want to add "ground game" to their training, or those who simply want to train recreationally.

Students who dedicate 2 to 3 classes a week training will, improve their stamina, increase their strength, learn how to better defend themselves, and build self confidence. All students who train at Schilling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu check their egos at the door, so students easily focus on their development.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

No Gi Class Instruction
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is arguably the most effective martial art in the world, practiced by many top level Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters. Since over 95% of all fights end up on the ground, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was developed to account for many of the ground positions encountered making it a highly effective means of self defense.

Our typical Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class begins with a light warm up, followed by presentation and practice of techniques, and then the class ends with a series of grappling matches where students are free to apply their knowledge in a safe and controlled environment under the careful supervision of Professor Scott Schilling.

Classes are typically between 1:30 and 2:00 hours long up to 3 days a week.

  • Gi Class: Mondays 8:00pm - 9:30pm
  • Gi Class: Wednesdays 8:00pm - 9:30pm
  • No Gi Class: Saturdays 3:00pm - 4:30pm

All new students are given an opportunity to experience a no obligation, free class to "try it out" before making a decision. If you would like to try a class, you are welcome to show up with jogging pants, a T-shirt (or Gi if you have one), and a bottle of water 10 to 15 minutes before class.

*Private instruction is also available with Professor Scott Schilling upon request.
